Transition to a Postwar World

The first part of this lesson concentrates on the decision by President Harry Truman to drop the Atomic Bomb and the subsequent surrender of Japan and conclusion of the Second World War. The second part of the lesson discusses some of the steps that were being taken both internationally (such as the formation of the United Nations and the Nuremberg Tribunals) and domestically (like the G.I. Bill of Rights) to prepare for a postwar world.
