The Beginning of the Cold War

As the struggle known as the Cold War begins in the mid-to-late 1940s, this lesson focuses on some of the important strategy and terminology of a struggle that would last for more than forty years. Among the ideas given particular attention in this lesson are Containment and the “Iron Curtain.”
