Immigration in the Gilded Age and the Progressive Era

This lesson explores the second major group of immigrants to arrive in the United States who (in this period) came largely from Southern and Eastern Europe. It explains the motives these groups had for leaving their countries of origin, the reasons they came to America and the successes and hardships they encountered upon their arrival.
