Escalation in Vietnam

This lesson explores both America’s deepening involvement in the Vietnam War and the War’s increasing unpopularity. It also examines closely the pivotal year of 1968, which was marked by unrest, by violence and tragedy and ultimately by political change when a new president, Richard Nixon, was elected.
